Vitamin D deficiency linked to tuberculosis (AlphaGalileo, 8 April 2008)

New research has shown that patients with active tuberculosis have lower levels of vitamin D than the rest of the population. These findings, presented at the Society for Endocrinology BES 2008 conference lead to the possibility that vitamin D supplementation could be used as a preventative measure against tuberculosis.
