Turning on the thyroid- researchers determine mechanism that triggers normal and abnormal hormone production

Researchers have finally answered the question of “what turns on the thyroid gland?” The study was published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry and it is hoped that the findings will in the design of therapies for thyroid problems such as Graves’ disease and problems with other glands that operate in a similar fashion.
