Thirty percent of breast cancer 'is caused by obesity' (Daily Mail, 26 March 2010)

Experts speaking at the European Breast Cancer Conference warn that obesity is responsible for around a third of cases of breast cancer. It is thought that increased oestrogen production by fat cells serves to fuel hormone-responsive breast tumours.
