01 Jun 2011

The Society is running two public events at this year's The Times Cheltenham Science Festival on Thursday 9 June 2011 in Cheltenham Town Hall. The first event called Hungry? starts at 18:30 and will see Dr Kevin Murphy (Imperial College London), Prof Jane Wardle (University College London) and Prof Steve O’Rahilly (University of Cambridge) talk about how hormones influence our eating habits and why some people just can't ignore a plate of biscuits.

Our next event Gender: More than X versus Y will run from 20:15 and looks at what makes males male and females female including talks from Prof Melissa Hines and Prof Ieuan Hughes (University of Cambridge) and Dr Robin Lovell-Badge (MRC National Institute for Medical Research). You can hear Prof Hines and Prof Hughes talking to BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour programme about the event at the link below.
