Skeleton regulates male fertility (EurekAlert, 17 February 2011)

In a study at Columbia University Medical Center, the hormone osteocalcin has been found to regulate testosterone levels in male mice and affect sperm count, litter size and litter frequency. The effect on reproductive capacity could not be demonstrated in female mice.
