Pregnancy may permanently alter a woman's brain and could increase risk of dementia

The surge in hormones women experience during the nine months of pregnancy may influence the development of the central nervous system and put them at increased risk of dementia, according to a study presented at the 9th Annual Canadian Neuroscience Meeting.
