Pill 'lowers ovarian cancer risk' (BBC News Online, 26 October 2011)

Research published in the British Journal of Cancer has used data from the European Prospective Investigation of Cancer (EPIC) study to investigate the long-term effect of the oral contraceptive pill on the risk of ovarian and breast cancer. Another study from Denmark published in BMJ has looked into the effect of different types of contraceptive pill on the risk of venous thromboembolism.
