Newer contraceptive pills raise risk of blood clots four-fold

Women who take third generation contraceptive pills such as Yasmin, Femodene and Marvelon have a four-fold chance of developing a blood clot compared with women who do not take an oral contraceptive. The UK study was published in the BMJ.
