Men ‘feel more pain after major ops’ (BBC News, 3 June 2014)

Evidence from an Austrian study of more than 10,000 patients suggests that male patients feel more pain after major surgery, while women are more likely to report pain after smaller procedures. The media speculates that sex hormones play a role in this. The study was presented at the Euroanaesthesia conference.
