Infants at risk of type-1 diabetes benefit from early probiotics

According to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association exposure to probiotics during the first month of life is associated with a 60% decrease in the risk of pancreatic beta-cell islet autoimmunity among children with type 1 diabetes–associated HLA genotype DR3/4, but not among those with other genotypes.
