Implanon contraception failures cost NHS £200,000 (Channel 4 News, 4 January 2011)

Channel 4 News has reported that the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority (MHRA) has received 1607 complaints concerning a contraceptive implant called Implanon. The NHS has had to pay in compensation a total of nearly £200,000 to seven women who fell pregnant despite using the device.
