Hormone changes during menstrual cycle alter problem-solving strategies

Research published in Psychoneuroendocrinology investigated problem solving methods amongst a group of women at varying stages of the menstrual cycle. The results found that women who were ovulating performed better in memory tasks, and women in their pre-menstrual phase were better at solving the spatial navigation trial.
