Half of type 1 diabetes develops after 30 years of age

Data presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) 2016 Annual Meeting analysed genetic data from the UK Biobank which shows type 1 diabetes diagnosis is just as likely after the age of 30. This research counteracts the idea that type 1 diabetes is a ‘juvenile’ condition.
