Genetic changes behind sweet tooth (AlphaGalileo, 5 April 2011)

A genetic study from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, has found that a particular variant of the gene coding for the hormone ghrelin can be linked with a modest increase in sugar intake in humans. The findings were extended using rodent studies on dependence.
