Finger length clue to motor neurone disease (BBC News Online, 10 May 2011)

UK researchers have linked a ratio of finger length to a form of motor neurone disease. This ratio (between the ring and index fingers) is thought to be set by the testosterone levels in a developing fetus. As it is an early study, on a condition about which little is known, a lot more research needs to be done to investigate the full extent of this new link and how it fits in to the development of the disease.
