Demonstrated in vivo the transfer of maternal thyroid hormones to the fetus (EurekAlert, 12 April 2010)

A team of Italian researchers has developed a transgenic mouse model to demonstrate the transfer of maternal thyroid hormones to the developing fetus during the first trimester of pregnancy. The study is published in the Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine.
