Cells passed from mother to child during pregnancy live on and make insulin (Eurekalert, 22 January 2007)

This press release reports how a study in Bristol, looking at maternal cells in children with type 1 diabetes, found that some cells have been seen to enter a child's pancreas and function as insulin-producing beta cells.
