Breaking up prolonged sitting with standing, walking reduces postprandial glucose, insulin levels

In postmenopausal women at high risk for type 2 diabetes, 5-minute bouts of standing or walking at a light intensity each half hour to break up prolonged sitting reduced postprandial glucose, insulin and nonesterified fatty acids levels. The study was published in the journal Diabetes Care.
