The use of adrenalectomy in treatment of primary aldosterone can lead to persistent adrenal insufficiency, so postoperative adrenocorticotropic hormone stimulation testing is recommended to avoid adrenal crisis, according to German research published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.
