UK slides in ‘mother rankings’ (MSN News, 6 May 2014)

A report by Save the Children has seen the UK slip in global rankings of the best place to be a mother, linking this to high-risk pregnancies caused by obesity, IVF, social deprivation, multiple pregnancies as well as increased maternal age and poorer access to healthcare. The charity notes that this is especially the case in some ethnic minority communities and among asylum seekers.
