Scientists oppose European stem cell patent ban (Reuters, 27 April 2011)

A number of European stem cell researchers have written an open letter to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) to protest against a potential ban on patents of embryonic stem cell technologies. The letter's authors argue that the progression of such technologies into the clinic would be hindered without the help of the biotech industry, which requires the incentive of patent-protection for its involvement.
