Prenatal exposure to EDCs linked to high BMI in childhood

According to research presented in Environmental Health Perspectives, children of women exposed to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) whilst pregnant are at risk of low birth rate followed by a faster increase in BMI during childhood. Children from low socioeconomic backgrounds had a significantly increased risk of high BMI.
