Polycystic ovarian syndrome may be a genetic risk factor for obesity

According to a study presented in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, children and young adults aged between 2 and 16 years with a high polygenic risk for PCOS have an increased likelihood to have high BMI scores, and likely to develop obesity. The researchers suggest further research is needed.
