Loneliness in people with diabetes linked to higher risk of cardiovascular disease

American researchers have found that people with diabetes have a 26% increased chance of developing CVD if they have higher perceived loneliness scores. The study, published in the European Heart Journal, found that the predictive strength of loneliness for CVD was stronger than common lifestyle risk factors.
