The Times editorial calls for MPs to pass legislation allowing mitochondrial donation, arguing that the “risks of three-parent IVF” is down to prospective parents alone. Dr Helen Watt from the Anscombe Bioethic Centre has countered with an opinion letter which arguing that the wishes for a “genetic connection” should not trump “all the risks of germ-line modification for the child and future generations”.
