Association detected between age at menarche and chronic pain

Early menarche is associated with increased risk of chronic pain, according to a Swedish study published in PAIN. Researchers found that women who were younger when they had their first period were more likely to suffer from chronic pain, and there was a 2% reduction in relative risk of chronic pain for each year menarche was delayed.
