A new method for picking the 'right' egg in IVF (EurekAlert, 1 June 2012)

Researchers from Yale School of Medicine and the University of Oxford have identified two genes whose expression is associated with eggs with the normal number of chromosomes. Their findings, published in Human Reproduction, could help them to avoid using aneuploid eggs during infertility treatments, and instead to pick eggs that have a full chromosome complement to increase the chances of a successful IVF cycle.
