YE tales from ICE/ENDO 2014

02 Jul 2014

By Sunday afternoon it was time to sneak off early and explore Chicago.

The third day of ENDO 2014 proved to be another great day! Combining a mixture of clinical Endocrinology and basic science, I started my day with a MTP session on Turner's syndrome which as always provided evidence-based, relevant, practical advice. Then it was time for a stimulating 90 minutes on GPCR signalling with particularly good talks from Jean-Pierre Vilardaga and Terry Hebert.

After grabbing a quick coffee (no such thing as quick if you could see the queue at Starbucks), I went to listen to one of the post-docs from Raj Thakker's lab (Caroline Gorvin, Oxford) present her work on the prolactin receptor. Her abstract won a prize.

At lunch, I bumped into the cheery Sam Mirczuk again who by now had presented her poster.

Two back-to-back MTP sessions on Graves' ophthalmopathy and prolactinomas kept me busy until a fascinating symposium on advances in hypopituitarism. I'll end today's blog with a picture of the vista taken whilst making the crazy dash to the shuttle.
