Women in Science: The L'Oreal Fellowship, worth £15,000

Applications are now open for the L'Oreal-UNESCO Women in Science Uk & Ireland National Fellowships 2016. Five fellowships, each worth £15,000, are available to provide innovative and flexible support to early career female scientists.

These awards are offered by a partnership between L'Oreal UK & Ireland and UNESCO, with support from the Royal Society. They aim to promote, enhance and encourage the contriubtion of women pursuing their research careers in the UK or Ireland in the fields of the life and physical sciences.

Five fellowships will be offered to outstanding women scientists in the eaerly stages of their career. These are tenable to any UK or Irish university or research institute to support a 12 month period of postdoctoral research in any area of the life or physical sciences. The value of each Fellowship is £15,000 and will provide flexible support - equipment purchases, transport to overseas conferences and childcare are all things the Fellowship money can be spent on.
