The FEBS | EMBO Women in Science Award highlights major contributions by female scientists to life sciences research. Winners of the award are inspiring role models for future generations of women in science. The award is a joint initiative between the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) and the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS).

This recognises a major contribution made by a female scientist working in Europe to life sciences research. The winner will receive €10,000 (£8,500), a bronze statue and the opportunity to give a plenary lecture at the FEBS Congress. The deadline for nominations is 15 October 2013.
