Wellcome Trust Early career clinical postdoctoral fellowship

The Wellcome Trust is pleased to offer a portfolio of opportunities for talented clinicians wishing to undertake a period of postdoctoral training in the best research environments in the UK and overseas. Applications are now open for the following two schemes.

Early Postdoctoral Training Fellowship for Clinician Scientists. This scheme is targeted at people who have recently obtained a higher degree (typically a PhD). It will provide successful candidates with the opportunity to explore new environments and gain postdoctoral research experience that will lay the foundations for a successful independent career. The fellowship can be tailored to enable individuals, where appropriate, to continue to progress their clinical training. Fellowships are for up to three years, and the total cost will normally be capped at £350,000.

Postdoctoral Training Fellowship for MB/PhD Graduates. This scheme provides a unique opportunity for the most promising newly qualified MB/PhD graduates or those who have achieved a high-quality PhD during, or before starting, their medical degree. It will help successful candidates regain their research momentum and make an early start in developing their independent research careers.
