Via www.jobs.ac.uk. A position is available for a 'Web-Based Applications Programmer' at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Based within the Cancer Research UK Epidemiology and Genetics Group, the candidate should have strong computing skills, including PHP programming experience. The postholder will develop and maintain the MySQL breast cancer genetics database and provide programming support for the research group. The department have established large national collections of bilateral, familial and unselected breast cancer cases and healthy controls for gene discovery studies, including data on intermediate phenotypes such as mammographic breast density, steroid hormone levels and circulating growth factor levels. The appointee will also provide programming support for other epidemiological studies. The appointment is full-time for one year, but may be extended. The salary will be £30639 - £35194 p.a depending on qualifications and experience.
