Vitamin D plays role in prevention of RSV infections in infants (Medical News Today, 9 May 2011)

A study published in the journal Pediatrics has found that infants born with a deficiency in vitamin D are at an increased risk of developing respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The authors call for a larger clinical trial to look at the effects of vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy on the risk of RSV in newborns.
