Vacancy on Clinical Practice Committee (CPC)

21 Dec 2011

We are seeking applications for a vacant position as a member of the ESPE Clinical Practice Committee (CPC). The 3-year appointment will start in September 2012. The main task of the CPC is to assist developing clinical practice in paediatric endocrinology by producing guidance, sometimes through consensus meetings, evaluating clinical policies and responding to urgent therapeutic issues, and to help steer the clinical focus of the ESPE annual meeting through the Programme Organising Committee. You would be one of six ESPE members including the Chairman.

The workload consists of one teleconference every 2-3 months, numerous emails and preparation work including writing of guidance and organisation of consensus meetings, and one, possibly two face to face meetings every year (one during the annual ESPE meeting). Applicants should have wide knowledge of the published literature in paediatric endocrinology in general and be an experienced clinician ideally with detailed knowledge in specific area(s). A special interest in paediatric thyroid disease would be welcome, but this is not an exclusive requirement. We aim to have a good geographic representation on the CPC so applications are welcome from all countries including from outside Europe.

The appointment will be made by the ESPE Council following recommendation by the CPC. If you are interested in applying for this important post, please send a brief email to the CPC Chair Gary Butler [email protected] outlining your suitability for consideration.
