Vacancies - Endocrinology and Diabetes SCE Question Writing Group

The Society for Endocrinology, the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists and the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK are inviting applications for vacancies on the question writing group for the Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) in Endocrinology and Diabetes. We are looking for people who have an interest in writing new questions for the exam. This involves writing a set of questions and a two day meeting to review and revise all new questions.

A copy of the remit and responsibilities of the question writing group and requirements of potential applicants can be found on the MRCP website; briefly, applicants should meet the following: hold the MRCP(UK) or an equivalent postgraduate diploma; normally be a member or fellow of one of the Royal Colleges, and be registered and in good standing on the GMC specialist register; have been actively engaged in the training of junior doctors in the UK within the last two years, and to be up-to-date as appropriate with relevant National Guidelines, and CPD requirements; be up-to-date with their employer’s equality and diversity training, and with their employer’s appraisal process.

Expressions of interest (in the form of a single side of A4 resume that includes a statement of interest and previous experience) should be submitted to Rachel Austin ([email protected]) by 30 April 2013.

All applications will be considered by a selection panel chaired by Professor Graham Leese, academic lead for the Endocrinology and Diabetes SCE. The panel will comprise of the Medical Secretary Dr Ketan Dhatariya and representatives from the SfE and ABCD.
