According to research published in British Journal of Sports Medicine, brisk or speedy walking patterns can reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes irrespective of how long an individual walks for. The study saw that people who walked at speeds of 3.7mph saw a diabetes risk reduction of 36%.
