Two vacancies - ESPE Winter School Macedonia – deadline 31 May 2014

22 Apr 2014

The Teaching Faculty of the ESPE Winter School is looking for 2 ESPE members who would be interested in joining us in Macedonia in February 2015 and thereafter in 2016 and 2017.

ESPE Winter School aims to cover all main topics in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes in the course of an intensive 5 day and 6 night teaching event. The host country is usually, but not always, in Eastern Europe. Normally there are 5 faculty members, who are joined by the host coordinator for the year in question and the host coordinator for the forthcoming year, making 7 teachers in all. The 25 students range between 25-35 years old and have a genuine interest in paediatric endocrine training, with a reasonable command of written and spoken English.

The ESPE member who joins the faculty will be asked to give 4-5 lectures lasting 45 minutes each and to present ‘teachers’ cases’ to small groups. The faculty members mentor about 4 students each prior to the meeting so that the students’ case presentations and research proposals can be in an advanced stage by the time Winter School begins. ESPE Winter School is a lot of work both before and during, and involves being away from home and institution for a week each year. But it is also hugely enjoyable and usually much appreciated by the students!

If you require further information about the role and the Winter School please contact the Winter School Chair John Gregory at: [email protected]. If you are interested in applying for this post, please send a brief email to the ESPE Team at: [email protected] attaching your CV, specifying interests in terms of clinical and research topics and outlining your reasons for applying. Applicants are advised to view the most recent programme for the Winter School 2014 in Tbilisi, Georgia here.

The deadline for applications is 31 May 2014.
