Survey request: Society of Biology’s Open Education Resources Project

27 Jul 2012

The Society of Biology recently received funding from the Higher Education Academy and JISC through their Open Educational Resources (OER) Phase Three Programme.

The project is focused on promoting the use of OER in the biosciences community, and the Society will be working closely with the Heads of University Biosciences (HUBS) Executive Committee to develop a new website which collates and signposts existing OER that support laboratory and fieldwork teaching in biosciences higher education. They will also be running a series of workshops in the autumn and producing publications to promote the use of OER.

The Society of Biology would like to find out about the current use of OER and future needs of the biosciences teaching community and have set up a survey (link below) to guide their development of the project. All respondents will be entered into a draw for a £15 Amazon Voucher. For more information on the project, or if you have created OER which would be suitable for highlighting on the website, please contact Eva Sharpe, HE Policy Officer at the Society of Biology at [email protected]
