Society welcomes new Chief Executive

We are pleased to welcome Ian Russell to the post of Chief Executive of the Society following the recent departure of Leon Heward-Mills. Ian joined the organisation on 6 July 2015 from his position as Editorial Director at Oxford University Press and also assumes the role of Managing Director of the Society’s trading company, Bioscientifica.

Ian is an accomplished director, with more than 20 years’ experience working in senior positions for membership organisations and within the scholarly publishing industry. His previous positions include successful tenures as Chief Executive of the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) and as Head of Publishing at The Royal Society.

Ian said: ”I am delighted to be joining the Society for Endocrinology and am looking forward to ensuring that the organisation continues to meet – and indeed exceed – the requirements of our growing membership.  It is a pleasure to be joining such a committed team of colleagues all of whom are fully focused on the Society’s aims of advancing clinical and scientific endocrinology.”
