Society of Biology Animal Science Meeting 2012

Applications are invited for the Society of Biology Animals in Science Regulation Unit Animal Science Meeting 2012. The meeting will comprise of various sessions each with extensive panel discussion and Q&A opportunities giving you a chance to engage on key topics in animal science with experts and policymakers.

The sessions include: a joint session with the RSPCA will discuss GA animals in research, including statistical reporting, phenotype assessments, welfare assessments, and non-murine models; a session on Transposition of Directive 2010/63/EU will look at legislative development and what will change versus what will remain the same; an update on the IT system (ASPeL) will discuss progress with system development and future plans; and a session on Assuring competence under the new Directive will discuss the role of training and the EU framework, and examine local approaches to assuring competence.

The meeting will be from 10.00 – 16.30 on 7 December 2012. It will be held at The Home Office, 2 Marsham Street, London, SW1P 4DF, UK.
