Society members continue to raise the profile of endocrinology

We are delighted to congratulate Society member Professor Andrew Hattersley FRS, who has been awarded the 2016 Royal Society GlaxoSmithKline Prize and Lecture. Andrew received the notable award for his outstanding work on genetic and physiological studies of patients with common subtypes of monogenic diabetes revolutionising treatment for these patients.

We also celebrate the success of Professor Ruth Andrew, who has been appointed Chair of Pharmaceutical Endocrinology at the Edinburgh Clinical Research Facility.

Finally, Society for Endocrinology President Steve O'Rahilly has been awarded the European Association for Study of Diabetes Novo Nordisk Foundation prize for excellence.
