The University of Oxford - Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism is seeking to appoint a senior clinical researcher with a strong track record of research excellence in diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease to work in the Diabetes Trials Unit. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to provide clinical and academic leadership across a range of projects as well as acting as the Clinical Lead for designated trials.

The Diabetes Trials Unit is one of only a handful of academic units worldwide that performs cutting edge cardiometabolic translational research studies as well as designing and conducting multinational long-term clinical outcome trials. Trials are focused primarily on defining best treatment regimens, assessing new devices and cardiovascular risk management, as well as addressing other clinical and epidemiological needs.

The successful candidate will be a skilled researcher with demonstrable clinical practice experience and full GMC registration (or eligibility for GMC registration). They will have proven experience in designing and conducting trials in diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease including a track record of successful publications in these respective areas. Experience of conducting clinical trials in China would be an advantage. This post is funded for five years in the first instance.
