Added via NatureJobs. The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) is one of the world’s most influential cancer research institutes. The Endocrinology team, based in South Kensington, is focused on identifying phenotypic and genotypic alterations that influence response or resistance to endocrine therapy and translating these molecular findings into novel treatments.
They currently have a vacancy for a highly motivated Senior Bioinformatics Officer to provide support for ongoing molecular profiling and next-generation sequencing projects within the team, and to build on existing collaborations with other groups internationally. The successful candidate will be responsible for the quality assurance, electronic storage and primary analysis of bioinformatics data generated by numerous projects. In particular he/she will have established expertise in Next Generation Sequencing, particularly in respect to whole genome, exome, RNA-seq. and ChIP-seq. and their integration with clinical and other biological data.
Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject and experience in analyzing complex data sets is essential preferably from human studies in oncology. Extensive programming experience and understanding of the UNIX/Linux environment is required. A mathematical and/or statistical background would be a distinct advantage.
