Scientific Officer: Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Unit

Via www.jobs.ac.uk. Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the country's leading breast cancer charity, has opened a new Research Unit at the Guy's Hospital campus of King's College London. To work within this unit, they are recruiting for a Scientific Officer to help with the establishment of diverse experimental models of breast cancer with the aim of identifying and characterising breast cancer stem cells. This project is led by Professor Anand Purushotham. Once the model has been established, the post holder will contribute to the development of therapeutic approaches targeted against breast cancer stem cells. The post holder will also be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of an in vivo model of breast cancer. To apply for this position, you must have a BSc in a relevant discipline, previous experience in cell biology as well as knowledge of Home Office Legislation. The appointment will be for 5 years in the first instance and made, according to experience on Grade 4, £21,072 plus £2,323 London Allowance per annum.
