Recent developments in the debate over science funding have prompted an article by Robert M. May, former president of the Royal Society and former chief scientific advisor to the UK government, in New Scientist. Whilst a lot more work needs to be done, raising awareness amongst Parliament as a whole is a valuable step in ensuring science is recognised as a vaulable industry and supported adequately during this period of economic instability.
