A position is available for an experienced Research Technician within the Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology, UCL Department of Medicine, to support its programme of research in appetite and body weight regulation. Applicants should have a BSc in an appropriate biomedical area and have a wide range of laboratory experience. Essential skills include previous physiology experience (including human work), RNA extraction, quantitative PCR, cell culture and other skills outlined in the job description. The post-holder will primarily be responsible for carrying out technical work on factors regulating body weight. In addition, they will be responsible for managing the ordering of supplies, safety issues and facilitating the research of the wide range of people who work in the Centre. This full-time position is funded by the MRC, and is available for 12 months in the first instance.
