Research on Prader-Willi Syndrome

Via www.rdfunding.org.uk. The Foundation for Prader-Willi Syndrome (FPWR) is inviting applications for grants to support innovative research relevant to PWS. The FPWR is particularly interested in supporting projects that will lead to new interventions to alleviate the symptoms associated with PWS. Priority will be given to the following areas of research, although alternative areas of high scientific merit will also be considered: Neurobiology of PWS; Molecular basis of the PWS phenotype; Regulation of appetite and energy homeostasis in individuals with PWS; Development and evaluation of therapeutic interventions to regulate appetite in PWS; Understanding the basis of behavioural and psychiatric disorders in PWS; Development and evaluation of therapeutic interventions; Endocrine dysfunction in PWS; Development of novel therapeutic interventions using mouse models of PWS; Etiology of medical complications in PWS, therapeutic interventions.
