Research Officer (secondment), Diabetes UK

Diabetes UK are seeking a secondment Research Officer to work for three months full-time from 1 June 2011. Under the direction of the Head of Research, the Research Officer will be responsible for the day to day management of applications for all Diabetes UK research grants including Studentship and Fellowship schemes, Small grant scheme, Project grant scheme and Equipment grant scheme and deal with enquiries from potential applicants. The successful candidate will manage and be responsible for the peer review process for all applications; will assist in managing the research committee and fellowship interview panel meetings and be responsible for the post-award management and administration of grants.

Applicants should have an MSc or PhD in a life sciences area related to diabetes and a minimum of one year’s experience in research administration especially including experience in peer review processes or alternatively three years’ experience in research administration with demonstrable experience of peer review processes and a BSc in a life science related area.
