Marie Curie Cancer Care provides free specialist support and nursing care to terminally ill patients and their families. The research team manages Marie Curie Cancer Care’s growing investment in palliative care research and work to ensure that emerging findings influence our own service developments and lead to improvements in end of life care for patients and families.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Marie Curie Cancer Care as a Research Officer. In this role you will oversee the day to day administration for the research team, including minute-taking of internal and external meetings. You will be working with the Research Manager to provide the pre- and post- award support for two open and competitive Marie Curie Cancer Care funding schemes. You will be responsible for updating the research publications database and will work towards translating research findings into practice to maximise the benefits for patients and families. You will be part of a team organising the annual Marie Curie Cancer Care Research Conference.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a health or research related discipline and preferably with a postgraduate degree, you will have excellent organisational and verbal and written communication skills. You will have a strong grounding in research methods and the ability to analyse research findings and provide summaries in lay language. A highly motivated and dedicated individual, you will be able to work to tight deadlines. Previous experience of working in research administration either at a research funding body or in the NHS or university sector would be a distinct advantage.
