A talented research manager and science communicator is sought to help oversee the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity growing programme of medical research. The role is high profile, varied and broad-ranging and works across the hospital, UCL Institute of Child Health and charity to manage and develop the charity's research portfolio and communications. The post holder will be responsible for: management of the charity’s funding streams and pre- and post-award processes; comprehensive peer-review across all funding streams, ensuring that only the highest quality research us supported; management of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity Research Assessment Panel; leading on science communications, in particular key outward-facing publications and supporting fundraisers to prepare cases for support; and evaluating and reporting on the impact of the research that the charity funds.

They are looking for someone who has: a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline and research management experience; proven ability to comprehend and translate complex information into lay terms; excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience of independently prioritising and co-ordinating multiple large and complex projects; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of people including senior scientists and lay public.
